I have learned by viewing Ruthie Kalbfleisch's website, that the Memorial Coliseum played a vital role in Corpus Christi's "pop" industry as well as a sentimental place to the generations affected by its destruction. I loved Ruthie's focus and organization, I thought that her topic was a tough one, but her research findings were conclusive and her website looked fantastic!
I have learned that World War I deeply impacted Corpus Christi primarily by it's agriculture industry. Many young men registered and it helped Hispanics gain more attention to their struggles as a culture in America. I also found out that many women volunteered for the Red Cross. I fell that signing up for war is the most extreme sacrifice a person can give. I really liked her writing and personal inquiry of the topic. Her website was very informative and deeply analyzed.
Here are the websites I visited; They are listed below;

Week Four
the Accomplishments of my research have allowed me to see with my own to eyes how impacting the EPA was for our community of Corpus Christi, Texas. When I think of my goals and future it feels so far wasy and like I am not affected by it yet, but in all reality I AM! Right now the EPA has changed our lives! I have learned that establishing a new branch of government like the EPA had its downs ( inaccurate testing, etc..), but through the establishment we live and learn and that is exactly what the EPA has done. Now, 44 years later we as a nation can feel the and see the change in our lives. This research project has reminded me to not be so blind to the other side. It only now motivates me to do what is right for our future. I am thankful I had the choice in what I wanted to do for my project. It has opened my eyes and let me learn about a topic that will deeply impact my life. The nurture for our environment is the safety of our future.
Historical Marker of My Interest
This landmark serves to be a remeberance of Kinney's legacy of the establishment of Corpus Christi. Kinney brought settlers and business to Corpus Christi which is still present today. I was interested in this marker because I had seen a photo of a ton of tents set up in a uniformed formation on a beach in the Central Library. I soon realized that Kinney and his group of men established a relation ship with the global economy at that time. Some of these realtionships were from Spain, France, and Germany. This makes me realize that Corpus is very enriched in many diversed cultures and it is nice to know that we were not kept to ourselves, because I know we have spread our culture on to many.
Cool Fact: Kinney's Trading Post was asked to house former slaves by an active abolitionist.

Historical marker that relates to my topic
This is the Corpus Christi Port. In a time of sole rapid development of the refinery industry during the 7 0's-80's, this port served as a gateway for raw and refined products. This port also served as a lab for environmental experiments.

Week 3
I have configured my survey and deemed that only one question is truly important to my project idea. I am kind of dissapointed at this, but what can I say, I am not a survey expert. I have gone to the library three times and stayed for atleast 3 hours each day. This project is highly extensive and I feel that discovering more and more is infinite. Where will my project end? My website, I feel may be a bit simplistic in layout, but the information on it is much greater. I am proud of myself for putting so much time into it, but I feel that I can keep on doing it. I do not know where I should end. The EPA is drenched in Corpus Christi and not many people know about it.
Week 2
I have gotten more than half of my surveys completed and made time in my scheduale to visit the Central Library. Also, I have establlished the building blocks of my website on Weebly. I have learned that the EPA was tremendously involved with Corpus Christi since it is among one of the largest ports in our nation. I have worries on how to carefully select my articles. A WOW moment would definetley be the great supply of information on my topic, the UGH is trying to shorten and select treasured info as much as I deem necessary to fit the point of this project.
Week 1
My first impressions of my project is that I thought I would have a definite ending point by the first time I had gotten all my goals for this project derived. I prepared for my project by starting to create a survey I would issue to my collegues and different age groups. I had learned from a call to the Central library librairan that there was adequate information to my project. I was worried that there would be too much information and I would not have had time to finish it all. I knew I was in for a very large amount of work and research. Who knew what Corpus Christi's environment was like besides the people that expirenced it?!
